Kul trip 01May to 03May

Upon arriving KLIA airport, it took us about an hour plus to pass thru the custom as there's only a few counters which is operating what really pissed us off is this women and her daughter trying to cut queue. So SH, Char and me actually formed a line to stop them from cutting thru us so she lan lan lor standing really close to us using her body trying to push her way thru. After that ordeal we when to take KLIA express to KL Sentral which is abt 28mins ride that cost 35rm per person.

I was elated when we got a free upgrade to deluxe room as all the superior rooms is full.
The rooms is clean and comfy as you can see from the below pics. Veri shiok to nuar there, realli have veri gd nite sleep throughout the 3d2n trip.

Indoor Theme Park in Time Square

It was interesting to see a indoor theme park in a shopping mall I sua ku la coz SG dun haf such thing. Was thinking of paying 9rm for the Haunted Chambers, however, we were disappointed as you cant juz purchase the tickets for the particular game. Entry fee of about 37rm per person, siao......somemore the ticket sellers still ask us from which country?? Does that mean different nationalities quote different prices?? So in the end we decided not to enter the theme park.

My Char Keow Teow, taste so so portion damn small....coz i m hungry...but so much lousy then Hill Street Char Keow Teow in SG, veri disappointed as always hear from pple Penang famous Char Keow Teow is veri de nice lehz....turn out like this somemore wif unfresh cockles....

No pics on Char's food of Asam laksa coz its verdict to me is unedible. Char oso cannot tahan the Fishy Smell Asam laksa, however, her WQ happily makan the food and tell us veri nice lehz....I was like huh ?????

Came across this link thru Char's blog. Saddened by the state of dogs being caged, confined, w/o proper care and no one to shower them with luv, they are just being treated as breeding machines. In the past, all the dogs I had before is abandoned by relatives or friends and I had actually stop rearing dogs for more then 3yrs since my last dog pass away. I had visited Pasir Ris Farmway sometime ago when I was prepared to get a dog again and its my first and lastime to visit there. Saw some backyard breeders area which is unhygenic, poor living conditions and dogs were in small cages some even stack cages on top of another. My heartache when I saw that scene and did not understand hw can humans be so cruel to Man's Best Friend.

I was ignorant before thinking that SG is such a small country so I had always thot that those cute dogs from pet shop is usually imported from other countries and responsible home breeders never did I realised SG had such puppy mills.

Please DO NOT SUPPORT PUPPY MILLS as they operates for the sake of profits, they does inhumane breeding which caused the sufferings of this poor animals.

Please think again Before getting a Dog from Pet Store and Puppy Mills as most of the pet store got their dogs from PUPPY MILLS also.

Remember when There's No Demand, There won't be SUPPLIES.

Just like to share a video taken by my mum's colleague during their return for the Hungry Ghost Festival in Msia. They cannot see the floating images thru their naked eye, they saw it thru the video cam screen and it seems like it is collecting those burned offerings. As per my mum's info, at first they only intended to just video cam the process of the offerings didn't expect that they had capture some floating images around the burning of offerings and it actually lasted quite long. I had shown it to my couple of friends and relative and we conclude is this "Tua Ya Pek" as it seems like wearing a long hat with a fan on his right hand. Take a look and judge it for yourself.

Pulai Spring Excursion

We went to Pulai Spring Resorts a field trip with Charlene and family to check on her prospect venue for Charlene's big day. Upon reaching we was like "WOw" so Shiok, feel like immediately go check in a room :) the atmosphere was fantastic veri good for pple to relax and just simply do nothing. Its consist of alot of amenities with nice rooms even a normal standard room is oso up to a certain standard....no wonder its consider a 5 star resorts in JB.

Sotong Me!!!!

Was on my way home so thinking soon bian transfer money to Charlene's account. So I retrieve a bank account number from my Hp saving drafts as per my usual practice and proceed to transfer $156.44. Straight after I sms Charlene that I abt the transfer, I got a call from her immediately....my heart was tellin me something must be realli wrong! INDEED! The Sotong me had transfer to a wrong account, I was like shit Goddamn!!! So I quickly called POSB as per Char's advise infm abt the wrong trfs was told by the officer that I need to go down to any POSB/DBS branch and filled indemnity form so from there they will investigate. Okie so I ask qns in such cases what the chances of gettin back my money, the best reply they gave is they will try their best as they need to infm and get approval from the bank account holder before they are able to revert back the wrong transfer. My heart was like shit so suai but I was still veri optimistic of gettin back the money coz since this account number found in the HP meanin this person shd be someone I known. So while heading home, I keep thinkin this account belongs to who man, so I started to sms a couple of relatives and friends. So heng the account holder Sharon Seah my frd cfm its her account, wahahaha I m so happie its a Blessing in Disguise that I can sleep peacefully tonite.

PS: Char thanks for goin thru the trouble and we need to eat qin feng shan to calm dwn coz u sound veri anxious then me.....so sorrie....I wil try not be Sotong again.... and thanks to Sharon for her prompt response :)

DIY Thai Prawn Cake

Had followed the recipe and it worked. Taste great (but cannot fight with Banya de) juz dat my Prawn Cake size and presentation not nice la bo bian i not a cook lehz......Delicious will try out the rest of the dishes when free.

PS: thank my mum for helpin la...(me bad cook), and do not add 2 tbsp of sugar as I think dats too sweet for SG pple taste bud I juz add 1 tbsp and its juz nice (of course depending on ur amount of ingredient la, agar agar range shd be okie)

Fried Prawn Cake

Ingredients
400 g. prawns
100 g. ground pork
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground pepper
2 tsp sugar
3/4 cup soft finished flakes of bread crumbs
1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Preparation
1. Clean prawns, peel shell, and devein. Put into food processor and blend with ground pork.
2. Put the mixture in a large mixing bowl and then season with salt, ground pepper, and sugar.
3. Mix all ingredients with hand and knead until sticky.
4. Pour soft finished flakes of bread crumbs all over a plate. Spoon prawn mixture about 3 Tbsp, shape into small round piece about 3" in diameter, and cover with bread crumbs.
5. Heat oil in a wok on medium heat. When oil is hot, fry each piece of prawn mixture until golden brown, then remove from oil, and drain on paper towel.
6. Put the fried prawn cakes on a plate and serve with thinly sliced tomatoes and plum sauce.

Pineapple Fried Rice

Ingredients
400 g. ham
2 sticks Chinese sausage
2 pieces fresh pineapple
½ cup raisin
¼ head of onion
¼ cup diced carrot
3 cloves garlic
3 green onions
3 Tbsp oyster sauce
2 Tbsp thin soy sauce
1 Tbsp seasoning soy sauce
1 Tbsp sugar
½ tsp curry powder
2 Tbsp butter
5 cups cooked rice

Preparation
1. Soak raisins in water for 2 hours, rinse, and set aside.
2. Cut pineapple into small pieces, then slice green onion, mince garlic and chop onion into small dices.
3. Cut ham into small square pieces.
4. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a wok on medium heat. When oil is hot, fry Chinese sausages until cook, and then slice into small pieces.
5. Add butter in the same wok, when butter is getting melt, add minced garlic and diced onion, stir-fry until fragrant and onion is getting cook.
6. Add cut ham, stir-fry until the ham is getting cook, then make room for eggs in the middle of the wok.
7. Scramble the eggs with spatula, and spread eggs in a thin layer, then season with thin soy sauce.
8. When the eggs are set, cover with ham, return the eggs, add diced carrot and stir-fry thoroughly.
9. Add pineapple and raisins, season with all ingredients and stir well.
10. Separate cooked rice and add in the wok.
11. Stir-fry until all ingredients mix together, add sliced Chinese sausages.
12. Stir well, add sliced green onion, stir quickly until all ingredients mix together, and remove from heat.
13. Put pineapple fried rice on a plate, sprinkle with dried pork fluff and serve immediately.

Pad Thai

Ingredients
1 package (454 g.) narrow rice noodles
10 prawns
1/2 cup dried shrimp
1/4 cup roasted peanuts
4 large eggs
1 cup cut pressed tofu
1 shallot
3 cloves fresh garlic
1/4 cup preserve radish
300 g. mung bean sprouts
200 g. Chinese chives
1/4 cup oil for stir-frying
1/3 cup oil for frying
1 cup Pad Thai sauce

Ingredients for Pad Thai sauce

6 Tbsp tamarind juice
4 Tbsp tomato ketchup
2 Tbsp thin soy sauce
2 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp palm sugar
1 tsp ground dried chillies

Preparation for Pad Thai sauce
Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl, stir until sugar dissolve, and taste for your personal flavour.

Preparation
1. Peel garlic and shallot, cut Chinese chive roots, wash them all including mung bean sprouts, and drain. Mince garlic and shallot, then cut Chinese chives into short lengths about 1".
2. Chop preserved radish, well pound roasted peanuts in a mortar, and cut pressed tofu into small slivers.
3. Clean prawns, peel shell, and devein. Heat oil (for frying) about 3 Tbsp in a wok on medium heat. When oil is hot, add cleaned prawns, stir until the prawns are getting cook (don't over cook), then set aside.
4. Heat remaining oil for frying in a wok on medium heat. When oil is hot, add cut pressed tofu, fry until lightly brown, and set aside. Then add dried shrimp in the rest of the oil, fry until crispy, and set aside.
5. Now all ingredients are ready to stir-fry (I usually divide all ingredients in halves and cook twice). Heat oil (for stir-frying) in a wok on medium heat. When oil is hot, add minced garlic and shallot, fry until fragrant. Then, add fried pressed tofu, chopped preserved radish, and fried dried shrimp, stir for a while.
6. Add noodles and Pad Thai sauce, stir until the sauce cover all noodles. Make room for eggs in the middle, scramble with spatula, and spread eggs in a thin layer.
7. When set, return the noodles and mix together. Add cooked prawns, mung bean sprouts, and cut Chinese chives, mix all ingredients thoroughly, and taste.
8. Spoon onto a serving plate, sprinkle with ground roasted peanuts, and serve hot.

Tom Yam Kung

Ingredients
7-8 prawns
350 g. mushroom
1 lemon grass stem
7-8 kaffir lime leaves
2 sprigs cilantro
5 fresh chillies
3 Tbsp thin soy sauce (or fish sauce)
2 Tbsp roasted chillie paste
4 Tbsp lime juice
5 cups chicken broth

Preparation
1. Clean prawns and mushroom, peel shell and vein the prawns, then cut mushroom in quarter.
2. Wash lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, fresh chillies, and cilantro, then pat dry. Slice lemon grass stem, tear kaffir lime leaves in halves (remove central stems), pound chillies and slice in healves, and coarsely chop cilantro.
3. Pour chicken broth in a pot, bring to boil on medium-high heat, add sliced lemon grass and torn kaffir lime leaves, let them boil about 5 minutes.
4. Add prawns and mushroom, bring to boil until 2-3 minutes, turn off the heat.
5. Season with thin soy sauce (or fish sauce), lime juice, roasted chillie paste, and pounded chillies, then taste as you like. Add chopped cilantro and stir thoroughly.
6. Put "Tom Yam Kung" in a bowl and serve immediately.

Missed all the above Thai food, going to try out the recipe one by one. Char will be my food taster okie!!!!

Upon arriving Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, quite happy and impressed with the lobby as its looks presentable and modern. However, to our disappointment below the pics of hw the standard room look like:

The room is small, dark, not so clean as we perceive from the outlook of the lobby, the door is old like anyone can break it down easily.
The only good point is its near Platinum Mall, provide shuttle bus, helpful lobby staff to help you get cab and negotiate price for you.

The best food in BKK we had:
Kobune Japanese Restaurant at MBK cheap and nice.

Banya Restaurant near Nana's BTS they serve authentic Thai food, we are freaking hungry and the food is damn nice that all of us forgot to take pics of the food....:) is a must eat restaurant in BKK. Atmosphere of place is very family cottage feeling and comfortable, the only minus point is the toilet as its mosquito infested. Thanks to Charlene, heng she remember where to locate the restaurant even though she forgotten to bring the name card.

Nail Spa
Finally get to rest our feet at for medi and pedi spa treatment. Although price is consider slightly high then those normal Nail Spa in BKK but the treatment and environment make the whole experience so relaxing and Shiok!!!!

This labrador retriver is a street performer. He actually noes how to read, when his boss ask for certain words eg. various football teams written on paper, he actually pick out the respective teams on his commands. Then after his performance he walks around for pple to pat on him. So intelligent and cute :) how i wish my darlings noes dat.....

This cute BB is my first nephew "Aloysius". Look at his smile, so sweet, he always smile in his sleep from our observation. He look so much like his dad :) but hope he is not the 3rd "hum bao bao" in the Huang's family (the Huangs family traits wen they r young). First one of course is his dad follow by his bro and then mmm....keep my finger cross. Kekeke hope the dad dun "hum tam" wen he saw tis post. Congrats to ur new addition in ur family!!!!

Its my Birthday!!!! Damn tired after the shopping with Char for the whole day, nid to thank her :) for walking here and there, up and down with me to find the perfect wallet that I fancy despite the fact her leg n back is still in pain. I appreciate that alot ;)
Although I suppose to be on DIET...but veri ke lian lehz to be on diet on tis day so I decide to heck care n juz forget abt the calories for one dae shd be alrite bah. So we wen for lunch at Tonkichi restaurant in Ngee Ann City, we ordered a mix seafood, Hire & Rosu Katsu Set and curry sauce. Yummy yummy, veri fabulous n man chu lunch. Sorri no pics to share oni manage to get tis menu frm the web:
Luks so gd rite, although is all deep fried menu but it does not make you feel greasy or er sing after hafin too much, the rice wif the curry sauce is perfect as usually jap curry is quite sweet but tis is still okie veri tasty, dats a free flow of cabbage too 2 balance your diet. So in the end both of us couldn't finish the food man veri wasteful, nextime Char muz get ur Mr Ting to join in order to finish watever ordered :)!!!!!

A Prada Wallet from DFS!!! My first ever splurge on such ex wallet @ SGD 570.00, it may not be very expensive to some pple but to me its realli ex as I usually dun buy such expensive branded stuff. Its in metallic sliver wahaha veri shiny rite that explain the bad quality pics as its so reflective, I got it as coming Ox year is my lucky color metallic for Chinese Zodiac....keke superstitious (nin ke xin qi you). So to all Monkeys our next yr lucky col is metallic and white. Hereby, I need to thank Char for shoppin it wif me and her contribution to minimize my pocket burned hole.

Koko - The bad bad dog!!!

He was so guai in the cage compare to other mini pinscher that jump and bark like no body business. Which was why attracted my attention with his tame behavior in the cage and his beautiful shiny red coat. He was turning round and round in circles inside the cage and looking at me like beggin me to bring him home and guess wat I did bght him hm!! Which was the beginin of my nitemares!!!! He is a destroyer, mischevious, intelligient, panicky, thief n so much more and I was kana cheated by the pet shop as he suppose to be mini lehz...haf u seen a mini pin weighs 8KG!!!.... He destroyed almost anything from cushion zippers, HPs even my dad god statue was not spared (my mum fd nui tou n ma mian in the livin rm wif chips instead of where they suppose to be!!!) wen he is bored n needed to exercise his jaws. So in the 1st yr, I dreaded to be the 1st one to reach hm as who ever rch hm wil haf to clean up the mess he's done which usually tok us 1 hr to clear up so can u imagine hw mani stuffs been destroyed by him for the past 3yrs nw as of today!!! But heng nw hor he tone dwn quite alot liao if not i will die frm my family nags. Okay dats it for his bad behaviour if to cont further i think i can nve finish the story. Koko dun worry even though u r such a DEVIL i will still luv u forever. PS: Hope u realli will becum a veri guai dog....

Oreo - The Snoopy lookalike

Coz of his black ears alot of pple say he luks like Snoopy and haf strangers keep asking whether did I dye his ears black. The ans is "NO" so anyone who see Oreo pls do not ask me dat qns again I'm sick of answerin. Oreo is much more guai compare to Koko the destructive level is oni abt 40% of Koko's who is 100%....HENG AR!! Hwever, he always live in a world of his own, he dun realli understand basic commands and his learnin speed is freakin slow. Imagine Koko noes hw to sit in oni a few hrs of learnin whereas Oreo till todae is still learnin mmmm which he is nw 2yrs old liao. U ask him shake hand he gvs u tis "HUH"!! luk in the face so me n my family oledi gv up hope on teachin dat. So nw he oni noe tis few words -biscuits, mum mum, ball, bao bao, kai kai mmm dats all those that benefits him. I think he had selective listening prbs!!! He has a veri bad temper towards certain dogs eg. Eto his younger bro n Koko wen he provoke him. Hwever, he is such a darling towards human companionships and wif Cyrus (Char's dog). I think coz both Oreo n Cyrus think they r human bah dats y they get along better Waahaaha !!!! Sad thing is nw he is wif my uncle due to tis CRAZY neighbor complaints i had no choice but to let him stay there for the time being. N every wkend I wil bring him hm to reunite wif us, I miss him alot wen wkends cumin can't wait to bring him back.

I promise to take realli gd care of u 2, devote as much time as u did for me and luv u as much as u luv me!!!
